PUBLISHERS

Ash-Tree Press

Gothic Press

Hippocampus Press
A relative newcomer to the horror publishing world, Hippocampus "specializes in classic horror and science fiction with an emphasis on the works of H. P. Lovecraft and other pulp writers of the 1920s and 1930s."

The Sensation Press.
This small publisher-cum-bookseller seeks to "provide short runs of otherwise unobtainable Victorian novels for collectors and academic libraries." If you're interested in C19 and early C20 Gothic, mystery, and sensation literature, this is a must-visit website.

Side Real Press
Another new publishing house specializing in weird/supernaturalist fiction.

Tartarus Press
A British publisher self-described as "a small, independent publishing house, specialising in interesting fiction from the past and present. Our titles cross various genres and are often of an unusual nature, which means that they may have been overlooked by mainstream publishers. All evoke a sense of wonder or the supernatural in beautiful, exciting prose." Also maintains Guide to Supernatural Fiction, which includes biographical and bibliographical information for a growing number of supernaturalist authors.

Valancourt Press
Publisher of Gothic works, particularly long out-of-print bluebooks, at reasonable prices.

Zittaw Press
Specializing in "affordable reproductions of Gothic bluebooks, short tales of terror which first appeared in the early nineteenth century when the Gothic fiction of Ann Radcliffe and Matthew Lewis was at the height of popularity. Reprinted on cotton rag/kenaf paper with a blue cover, each bluebook is a hand-stitched replica of the original. Each bluebook includes an introduction which not only contextualises the work, but the author in a period rife with plagiarism and sensational fiction."

Although not a publishing firm, The Haunted Bibliophile is a source of information about publishers specializing in ghostly fiction; includes title listings.
