Wells, H. G.

H. G. Wells
21 September 1866 - 13 August 1946

English writer long regarded as one of the major figures of science fiction, Wells authored a few ghost and horror stories — some satiric, a few ("The Red Room," for example) of more substance as late-Victorian commentaries upon reason and the irrational; I dare say that "The Red Room" is a powerfully psychological ghost story that actively deconstructs the traditional Gothic.
