Swinburne, Charles Algernon

5 April 1837 - 10 April 1909

English poet, associated with the Pre-Raphaelite brotherhood and "decadent" trends in British literature. Some of his works deal with death in a powerfully evocative manner, though he can't really be said to be a "Gothic" writer.
