Quilller-Couch, Sir Arthur

21 November 1863 - 12 May 1944

British (born in Cornwall) author of literary criticism, poetry, and fiction, as well as an editor of Shakespeare and the first Oxford Book of English Verse, Quiller-Couch also found time to pen a number of supernaturalist short stories, many of which were published under the pseudonym "Q." Like M. R. James, Quiller-Couch was also a distinguished academic, holding the Chair of English at Cambridge.
