Level, Maurice

29 August 1875 – 15 April 1926

French writer (real name Jeanne Mareteux-Level) of short horror fiction, strongly influenced by Edgar Allan Poe and H. P. Lovecraft. Level adapted several of his short works for dramatic performance, primarily at Paris' notorious Grand Guignol theater.
